The SUPERAGENT Insurtech Roundup: Rate Hikes, Rule Shifts, and Robots Who...

Allergic to jargon. Tailored for the modern insurance world we’re helping reshape.

This week: Hackers eye your retirement, cars raise a $400B question, and our AI leaves the lab.

We keep it simple: what’s changing, what it means, and what to do about it, whether you’re running a team, closing business, or figuring out how to stay ahead.

Here’s what’s inside:

🔥 Headlines you’ll want to bring up at your next meeting
🧠 A behind-the-scenes look at what we just launched for SUPERAGENT
🤯 Trends shaping how insurance actually gets sold in 2025

Headline Mayhem

  • 🔐 Your 401(k) just became ransomware bait.
Cybercriminals are circling small retirement-plan providers because they know the security’s weaker, the data’s juicier, and the payouts are huge. If your firm touches retirement accounts and doesn’t have coverage dialed in… this is your wake-up call.

  • 📊 U.S. commercial insurance pricing begins to cool
After steady increases, Q1 premiums in commercial P&C climbed just 5.3% (down from ~6%). That’s still growth… but the slowest quarter in a long while.
What it means: Buyers might get room to negotiate even if rate relief isn’t here yet.

  • 📉 $1.1B says P&C is not okay.
AM Best dropped the mic: property/casualty insurers posted over a billion in underwriting losses last quarter. If you thought we were done with rate hikes, think again.

Building in Public: Not A Drill, Live with Real Agents

This past week we hit a milestone.

After weeks of stress testing and quiet rebuilding, SUPERAGENT went live with its first real-time users. That’s right, agents are now using SUPERAGENT in flow to guide real conversations.

The product is no longer theory. It’s showing up, mid-call, and helping real agents in real time:

✅ Live transcription, split by speaker.
✅ Real-time checklist guidance.
✅ In-the-moment objection handling.
✅ Coaching surfaced as the conversation unfolds, not after.

To track progress:

🧪 We implemented LLM-as-a-Judge, moving past keyword scoring and into real semantic understanding of how well the AI performs.
🔍 We versioned prompts, built heat maps of fragile conversation spots, and started mapping where grounding holds and where it breaks.
❤️ We even launched post-call sentiment tracking, a small (but powerful) signal of not only what happened, but how the customer felt.

It’s still early. We’re learning nonstop. But ecstatic to work in both testing mode and impact mode. And each call brings us closer to our vision: a system that can support -and close- a sales conversation, start to finish.
